Learning Objectives:
1). List the unique learning opportunities for their practice site and establish learning goals and objectives for their program.
2). Develop a strategy to identify and address different learning/working styles that can impact the success of the experience for
the preceptor and the student.
3). Describe the characteristics and activities of an effective preceptor in a learning-focused rotation.
4). Create a strategy to move from a preceptor/teaching focus to a student/learning focus.
5). Identify the necessary components of an effective orientation at their practice site, including a discussion of preceptor
expectations.
6). Determine the goals that will be achieved by every student and identify strategies that ensure each student achieves these goals.
7). Define the role of the student such that he/she contributes to the practice site, and provides services as well as learns.
8). Cite characteristics of constructive feedback and evaluation that includes daily, midpoint and final processes.
